Because of that, I have created a list of some of my favourite (and tried and true) Calgary wedding venues that cater to different sizes of weddings in the Calgary area. 52 North
Venue 52 North is a Central Alberta wedding venue with an industrial-chic vibe that takes your breath away. With 7 acres of property and a 3500 square foot event space, the possibilities are ENDLESS - which is music to our ears! They offer full weekend bookings, to help decrease your stress - check in at noon on Friday and check out at 11am Sunday morning. They also offer on-site decor rentals, so you don't have to worry about bringing everything with you - bonus! They also have accommodations for up to 14 people on-site! I am definitely a fan of venues that can host couples. This way, you don't have to worry about travelling on your wedding night.

Airbnb Weddings
Hear me out, it might sound crazy but we have fallen in love with cozy, intimate Airbnb weddings! There are so many Airbnbs nowadays that are stunning both inside and out that it's an easy choice for many of our couples looking for an intimate wedding. If you love all the DIY projects this is a great option for you. Airbnb's are a great option if you're looking for a small wedding venue. Have a look at this special wedding that took place at an Air B’n’B in the Rockies!
They're cozy, a lot more flexible and they're also a great option for couples who want more of a homey feeling without having to actually host their wedding in their actual home. Plus, it allows you a place to stay after celebrating your wedding day!

Archway Manor

Cork & Crate Estates
Hold the phone, this venue is one you don't want to miss, trust me! I instantly fell in love with the husband and wife duo of Cork and Crate and I know you will too. This family-owned Alberta wedding venue was born from a love of gathering, hospitality, and meaningful connection, and you can truly feel that in every part of the experience.
What started as a tree farm and private estate has been beautifully transformed into a wedding destination that feels both elevated and incredibly personal. Their approach is rooted in relationships, meaning your day is not just another booking, it is something they genuinely care about bringing to life.

Folk Tree Lodge
Finding a venue that also has lodging on site can be tricky to find, but rest assured this venue has lodging for all your most important guests and family to stay the night so that the party never has to end! Folk Tree Lodge is located in the heart of Bragg Creek, this hidden gem has beautiful golden fields, ponds and scenery just as beautiful as some of those mountain views – but without the crowds of people.

Maple Del Acres
We are so excited to still be able to feature Maple Del Acres in this blog! I was heartbroken a few summers past when we were told this venue was closing, however, the sweet couple that bought the property decided to keep it as a wedding venue - and we couldn’t be more excited. Maple Del Acres is a storybook wedding venue. This stunning location offers an unmatched combination of rustic charm and the convenience of modern amenities designed around the beauty of nature, nestled on 20 acres of serene countryside. Pine & Pond Wedding Venue
Venture a bit further from Calgary to this incredible Alberta wedding venue located near Ponoka. It is 100% worth the drive! Pine & Pond has Intimate Wedding Packages that I know you will love. I have had the privilege of shooting many weddings here and always love a chance to go back! Below is a beautiful fall wedding that I was a part of at Pine and Pond. Strathmore Wedding Venue
When you first start planning your fairy tale wedding, destinations like Italy, Greece, Ireland, or the Canadian Rocky Mountains flood your Pinterest searches. Beautiful old architecture, mature weeping trees, picturesque mountains and vast landscapes become the mood board for what your wedding day will look like. Now of course we have the rocky mountains in our backyard but because it is such a sought after location, Banff and Canmore are not only expensive but often busy for photo locations for our bride and grooms.
This acreage just outside of strathmore is a rare find that only hosts a handful of weddings per year for their family and friends. (& any of Fly Free's clients wink wink) The ceremony location features a little cove at the bottom of a hill perfect for a long entrance for the bride and groom. This long hallway allows for the tension and excitement to build and flawlessly gives off chique estate vibes.
The property is also endowed with many mature weeping trees casting lots of shade for those long summer days. Of note, a stunning private pond where a large grandfather tree casts its reflection in the pond below makes for an incredibly fairytale landscape shot. Truly this property is what a bride and groom's fairytale dreams are made of!

Rouge Restaurant
If you are looking for a wedding venue with both indoor and outdoor locations in Calgary with a dash of history - Rouge Restaurant in Inglewood is a great option for you! For your wedding ceremony only, packages start at $1000 - including chairs and use of their getting ready suite. The sky is the limit though, and you can add on from there! More and more restaurants are making absolutely incredible micro-wedding venues and we always love to see couples exchange vows at Rouge. The Chapel Company
Okay… this one is something really special. The Chapel Company is not just a venue, it is a place filled with history and heart. Shayla and her husband Ryan originally purchased this space for their own wedding and were married here in May 2022. Now, they run it together as a family business, helping other couples create that same kind of meaningful start.
Originally built in 1936, this beautifully restored chapel has kept its timeless charm while becoming an intimate and elegant wedding space. Tucked away in Water Valley, just outside of Calgary, it truly feels like you are stepping into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
The space is bright, naturally lit, and incredibly versatile. Whether your vision is modern, romantic, or somewhere in between, it allows you to create a day that feels completely like you.

The Crossing at Ghost River
If you are hoping for a venue that specializes in hosting and accommodating your smaller wedding - look no further. The Crossing at Ghost River specializing in small intimate weddings, can accommodate a maximum of 48 people for overnight packages, and can host 65 people for day ceremonies. This outdoor wedding venue is one you must check out! The Crossing at Ghost River is located an hour from Calgary and minutes from Cochrane, Alberta. Willow Lane Barn
This adorable family-owned rustic venue is one you must check out! Here is what the owners had to share when we asked them their story:
"Willow Lane Barn had been a dream of ours for years! Most of the barn was hand-built by Ken with help from our family. We spent a year nailing boards, twisting re-bar and planting trees to get the barn ready for our first season in 2015. A LOT of love went into building it, as it was quite the family project. Our children would come on weekends and they would spend the whole Saturday stuffing in insulation or nailing up boards.
This is our 7th wedding season and we are still loving it! We seem to be doing a project every year to improve the barn (we love a good project!). This year we upgraded the bar area! Some things that make our barn special is that we have a commercial kitchen that any caterer will LOVE. We have various spots throughout the property for amazing photos. We even have an old classic truck to take pictures with. Our barn is also BIG. Over 7000 square feet and it works for all event sizes. We can make it cozy for 25 person weddings, or feel roomy when there are 250 people inside!
We love meeting and working with couples from all over and being a part of their big days. We have had couples from all over Canada and the US get married here! We are very excited for the 2023 wedding season!”
