Getting Ready for Their Intimate Wedding in Bragg Creek
The morning started slow and easy, exactly how a wedding day should.
One of the best parts of having an intimate wedding at Folk Tree Lodge is that everyone is already there. No rushing between locations, no tight timelines right from the start. Just coffee, quiet moments, and a little bit of excited energy building throughout the cabins.
Janic spent the morning getting ready surrounded by her girls, laughter echoing through the space, while Bryan was just a short walk away with his crew. It felt calm, grounded, and full of anticipation.
And honestly, that kind of start changes everything about how the rest of the day feels.

First Look & Private Vows Full of Real Emotion
Before the ceremony, Bryan and Janic chose to share a first look with private vows, and this moment… it was everything.
Tucked just outside the cabin with the forest surrounding them, they stood face to face, holding their vows and trying to keep it together.
Janic was smiling through tears almost immediately, covering her face for a second as it all hit her. Bryan, reading his vows, had to pause more than once, laughing a little, tearing up a lot, and just letting himself feel it.
They took their time, reading every word, soaking in the moment, and when they finally stepped in for that hug, it was the kind where everything else just fades out. A deep breath, a quiet pause, and a “we’re really doing this” kind of feeling.
Moments like this are exactly why I love an intimate wedding in Bragg Creek. There’s space for them.
Wedding Party Energy & Summer Colours
After the first look, we rolled right into wedding party photos, and this group brought the energy.
Soft pinks, blush tones, and warm neutrals blended perfectly with the summer greens around them. It felt light, playful, and full of personality.
There were the classic portraits… and then there were the real moments.
The girls making goofy faces, laughing mid photo, and just being completely themselves. The kind of photos that end up being your favourites because they actually feel like your people.
And then the full crew walking together through the fields, laughing, slightly chaotic in the best way, and fully leaning into the moment.

A Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony in Nature
Their ceremony took place outdoors, surrounded by open fields and forest views that make an intimate Bragg Creek wedding so special.
A simple wooden arch with soft draping framed the moment, letting the natural backdrop do what it does best.
And then there was the sweetest guest.
Their dog made an appearance during the ceremony, adding that little bit of personality and joy that made the whole thing feel even more them.
When Bryan and Janic shared their first kiss, it felt like everything came together in that one moment. Cheers, clapping, and so much excitement from everyone watching.
Simple, meaningful, and full of love.

Lawn Games, Cocktails & That Laid Back Summer Vibe
After the ceremony, the whole day shifted into celebration mode.
Guests spread out across the property, drinks in hand, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. Some gathered around tables, others jumped straight into lawn games.
There was ladder toss, beer pong, and that kind of carefree energy that only happens when people feel relaxed and comfortable.
Janic and Bryan absolutely owned the games, celebrating every win and fully leaning into the fun, and honestly, those are the moments that make a day unforgettable.
This is where a Bragg Creek wedding really shines. It doesn’t feel rushed or overly structured. It feels like a gathering.

A Reception That Felt Like a Summer Dinner Party
As the evening rolled in, everyone gathered for dinner, and the setup was so beautifully simple.
Long wooden tables set outside, soft florals, and sunflower details that added the perfect pop of summer colour. It felt warm, inviting, and intentional without being overdone.
Sadly, Mother Nature had other plans for us, so later, everyone moved inside the lodge space, which gave the night a cozy, intimate feel while still keeping that open, airy feel.
Food was served, drinks were flowing, and the whole space felt like one big dinner party with all their favourite people.

Dancing, Celebration & The Best Kind of Ending
And then… the dancing started.
From spins out on the deck to a packed dance floor inside, the energy just kept building.
Guests gathered, cheered, laughed, and fully showed up for these two. The kind of celebration where no one is holding back.
One of my favourite moments was Janic sitting back for a second, watching everything unfold around her, just taking it all in. You could see it on her face, that mix of joy, gratitude, and “I wish I could freeze this moment.”
And honestly, that’s what it’s all about.
