This fall cake smash ended up being one of my favorite fall photo sessions. One of the problems with planning a cake smash is that oftentimes you can pay a lot of money for a fancy cake and a fancy outfit, and the one-year-old ends up so overwhelmed. Like everything with a baby, they don't always react the way you expect. Seriously, I've witnessed more than one cake smash that ends up with the baby crying! All of my cake smashes are low key, with only four of us there, which is a lot less pressure and a lot less overwhelming. So she wasn't afraid to dive right in.
Combining cake smash photos with an outdoor family photo session
We got some photos of her with the cake and some cute pumpkins to embrace the fall weather. Whenever I have the chance to photograph a family cake smash, I like to combine a family photo session as well. Trust me, these are the photos you are truly going to cherish!
