Laura and Mike had a true Alberta wedding, and we were HERE for it! If you are a "hunting, fishing, loving everyday" kind of couple - you'll love this one as much as we did! Fishing Before the Wedding
We love untraditional weddings over here - it comes from being elopement photographers for so long. When Mike said he wanted to go fishing the morning of the wedding, we couldn't wait! His groomsmen joined him for a morning catching fish while the ladies got ready at Laura's childhood home. Seriously, when we say you can do whatever you want on your wedding day, we mean it. We always help our couples plan out their wedding day timelines and we love to make unique things happen!
First Look Photos Outdoors
Laura and Mike originally planned to get married last year and like so many 2021 weddings, it was worth the wait. When it came time for the first look, they hadn't seen each other until the day before and the excitement in the air was electric. It was an absolutely gorgeous (hot!) summer day. It was a little bit smoky (like so many outdoor weddings in Alberta this year!), but it just made the photos turn out even more incredible.
A Beautiful Summer Golf Course Wedding
You'll see the golf course wedding ceremony below (the view was INCREDIBLE) but can we be real here for a sec? 2020 and 2021 have been incredibly challenging years for almost everyone. You could tell that despite what these two have been through, it's only made them stronger and more in love. This kind of love inspires us regularly here at Fly Free (and yes, wedding photography really is what gets us out of bed in the morning!). Their ceremony was incredibly heartfelt, and filled with so much love and laughter. It was impossible not to tear up as Laura walked down the aisle with her mother and a photo of her dad! It was a true honor to witness!
Golf Course Wedding Reception
Their wedding reception was just as special, with all of the details, the speeches, the dances. There was so much love. After all, like the welcome sign pointed out, they had waited 2,736 days for this and it was time to party accordingly!
Another Stunning Alberta wedding!
If we haven't stressed this enough - we LOVE how unique and personal Laura and Mike made their wedding day. Your wedding day SHOULD be personal to you. You SHOULD be able to incorporate whatever activities or details make your life fun (like fishing!) and represent you as a couple. Laura and Mike - we are already ready for the vow renewal!
