The best part of any wedding day is saying “I do” to your forever person — but for Emma and Anthony, the magic went even deeper. They chose a setting that wasn’t just breathtakingly beautiful, but deeply personal. Their Crowsnest Pass wedding took place in a place that felt like home — the mountains, a landscape Emma had visited with her family for years, filled with memories, comfort, and a lifetime of love woven into every view.

When the Right Person, Right Time Happens — A Southern Alberta Wedding Story

If you’re expecting a fairytale meet-cute, think again. This love story didn’t begin with fireworks — but it did begin with a moment no one could forget.

It was an ordinary night at the bar, the kind where familiar faces drift in like clockwork. Anothy walked into the bar Emma worked at with a group of military buddies — some familiar faces she’d served before, others new. Emma noticed him right away — the new, handsome, impossibly polite face among the crowd. By closing time, he finally worked up the courage to ask for her number. Emma, flustered and caught off guard, panicked, giggled nervously… and walked away.

Not her smoothest moment — but definitely memorable. Luckily, Anthony didn’t give up. He tried again. And again. Until one attempt finally became a yes, a number exchanged, and the quiet beginning of something neither of them saw coming. What started as an awkward, fleeting moment slowly grew into a love defined by ease, laughter, and countless inside jokes — the kind born from the simplest, most ordinary moments together.

Set against the backdrop of Southern Alberta, we brought their elopement dreams to life, one piece at a time. "She is so kind and thoughtful, always thinking ahead and suggesting meaningful little touches that made our elopement feel so special. She helped us find the perfect ceremony location and had endless ideas for additional photo spots—she’s a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Alberta locations. "

A Crowsnest Pass Wedding Fit for the Dreamers

I had the privilege of knowing Anthony before this chapter of his life, which made being trusted to document their deeply personal Crowsnest Pass elopement even more meaningful. Meeting Emma and witnessing the love they share added an entirely new layer of depth to their story.

They envisioned an intimate day that was entirely about them — a wedding in the Rocky Mountains designed around connection, intention, and the things they love most. With no distractions, they chose to save the larger celebration with family and friends for later. Planned intentionally around hunting season for Anthony, the day gave us the freedom to design an experience that felt authentic and heartfelt at every turn.

From a wildflower field chosen to honour Emma’s late mom, to hiking, wine, paddleboarding, and quiet moments together, every detail reflected who they are both individually and as a couple on their southern Alberta wedding day. Their ceremony took place in a secluded meadow overlooking the river, followed by a first look in the field, a short hike to a waterfall for portraits (with wedding shoes swapped for hiking boots), and a private lakeside picnic complete with charcuterie and wine. As the sun set, they paddleboarded together in their wedding attire — pure magic.

The weather was perfect, each location felt completely their own, and even a small charcuterie board mishap turned into a sweet moment thanks to a local Fernie company that went above and beyond. We couldn’t have been more honoured to stand as their witnesses. It was one of those elopement days where everything aligned effortlessly — beautiful, intentional, and unforgettable.
