Cozy Summer Engagement Photos

Looking for ideas to let your personality shine? Engagement photos done right can do just that for you! No one likes to feel awkward in their photos, and honestly you shouldn't have to. Today I want to share some fun ideas for your engagement photoshoot to help you not only feel relaxed but for you to get authentic photos that truly represent your relationship!

If we haven't met, I'm jazzed you are here! I'm Krystal, lead photographer at Fly Free Photography where we specialize in transforming your intimate moments into heartfelt keepsakes! You can learn more about my team and I here.

Ideas for engagement photoshoot

Hav and Jon are pretty much the cutest couple ever and when we originally talked about ideas for their engagement shoot and how I'd love for them to do things that represented their relationship, Hav ran with it! Haha honestly, we crammed A LOT into their session but it was so worth it and I'm forever glad they were about to bring their fur babies Meeko and Minnie along for the adventure. If you have pups, I highly recommend bringing them to your shoot, they are part of your family too! Plus, if you don't plan on having them in your wedding then it's a nice way to incorporate them.

Photoshoot ideas for couples

Summer is in the air, and that means picnic season is upon us! When planning a picnic engagement photo session you want the moment to be romantic, and authentic to you as a couple. Location is a key part to a successful picnic, the wrong location can take away from the overall feel of your special moment. Fear not, we are here to help you pick an epic location. What else is important on a picnic...food of course! You can bring your own food, or we can make some recommendations on charcuterie boards that not only taste AH-mazing, but look super pretty as well. You can also add fun picnic activities like laying on a picnic blanket and looking at the clouds, flying a kite, bring some board games, an instrument you play, or reading together. Whatever best reflects you as a couple.

Here at Fly Free we LOVE fur babies! They aren't just your pets, they're your family and we love involving them in your intimate photoshoots. Here are a few tips to help you out when bringing your pup to your engagement session: bring some treats for your special pup to encourage and reward them during your session, water to keep your pup hydrated, consider having a friend or family member come along to help look after your furry friend while you and your fiancé pose for photos, and of course, poop bags...you'll definitely want to bring some of those along. Last, but not least, HAVE FUN! Enjoy taking photos with your love and your cute fur baby.
