Early September weddings almost always mean fall weddings here in Calgary! And for Krystyn And Gabe we managed to sneak some delicious yellow fall colours into their photos!
Krystyn and Gabe wedding day started out just like any other early September day in calgary - Cool and crisp in the morning and warming up to the perfect temperature to celebrate all day long! We started off our photos with getting ready, something we absolutely adore here at Fly Free! The details of the dress, the brides jewelry, a mother of the bride getting to do her daughters dress up before she marries the love of her life - these are the moments we live for! That first hour or so of photos is one of my favourites because it builds excitement for the rest of the day and Krystyn was smiling ear to ear with excitement to see her groom!
Once we were done and ready to set off we went to the Inglewood bird sanctuary for photos where Krystyn insisted that had Gabe not proposed at the Trevi fountain in Rome - it would have been here! The couple has always loved this park and come here frequently to walk their pup therefore already serving as a place with many found memories! Now it will serve as a new fond memory - where Gabe got to see his bride for the very first time!
If you ask any of us here at fly free - we adore a first look whether it be between the bride and her bridal party, a first look with the bride and her dad or between the bride and her future husband! If we had it my way (Kait), we'd always have all three! These are often some of the most candid moments we can capture in a day as there aren't all of your guests watching your reactions!
After all the cuteness that unfolded with ALL of the first looks from our morning, it was time to check off bridal party photos! And Spoiler alert - you can do these before you're ceremony!! It's your day and we love getting those photos done early in the day so there more time for sunset photos for the bride and groom later!
As we headed back to the Zoo Krystyn And Gabe had mentioned how funny it would be if the Lama's photobombed their ceremony and ... those spoken words were heard by the universe and the lama's made their way into their ceremony photos right as the couple were mid kiss as they were set to leave their ceremony!
The Zoo has many options for photos - of mention Dinny the Dinosaur is an OG if you've grown up in Calgary! Another surprising photo op is the Zoo currently has many beautifully designed animal topiaries from a world renowned micro green artist in their gardens right now! These living pieces of art were shaped into Krystyn and Gabe wildest dreams; Giraffe's Tigers and Bears oh my! Some of the more creative pieces were animals like Snakes and Snails too! But that's not all! We also got to escape from the business of the zoo and find some quiet space to take some more intimate photos where the bride and groom just got to focus on each other for a moment! These moments are rare during a wedding day and that's why here at Fly Free we cherish them and intentionally work them into your day so that you have a moment to soak in all that has happened!
