Saying ‘I Do’ at Moraine Lake with Our Closest Crew
Many couples dream of saying “I do” with their closest loved ones gathered around them — and Ro + Bernard were no different. Their Summer Moraine Lake Wedding brought that vision to life with an outdoor ceremony wrapped in breathtaking views and the warmth of their dearest family by their side. Their day was the perfect blend of happiness, comfort, and quiet intimacy. In true nature-loving spirit, the couple kicked off their celebration with a scenic hike up the hill overlooking the lake, taking in Moraine Lake’s glow and sweeping mountain views before beginning their forever.

Your Blueprint for an Intimate, Scenic Wedding at Moraine Lake
For any nature-loving couples who want to spend their special moment wrapped in mountain air, wild beauty, and the stillness only nature can offer, Moraine Lake has everything you’re dreaming of. It’s exactly what made Rokhand + Bernard’s day feel so authentically them. Not only was the view out of this world, but the couple also added meaningful, personal touches that made their Moraine Lake wedding unmistakably unique. From a self-made T-shirt that read, “Rokhand, will you be my girlfriend?” to incorporating “cake” (or a sweet treat) through the Persian Honey Tradition, and even adding Chinese traditional outfits — every detail beautifully reflected their story, their culture, and their love.
A Banff Wedding Venue Straight Out of a Nature Documentary
Dreaming of a wedding day surrounded by nature and adventure? Moraine Lake is the perfect backdrop — a calming, awe-inspiring place where couples often feel their purest joy. Rokhand + Bernard were no exception. They felt every bit of that happiness, sharing it with their family as they celebrated their day with nature and Fly Free Photography as the witness.
The day kicked off with a quiet shuttle ride into Moraine Lake, the kind where the mountains feel like they’re slowly revealing themselves just for you. We hiked up to the top of the Rockpile and were greeted with absolute perfection — soft light, clear skies, and that unreal glow Moraine Lake is famous for. It truly felt like the world paused to give these two the most magical start. Brad (our in house officiant with all inclusive packages) led a heartfelt ceremony, and afterward everyone gathered for the sweetest Persian honey tradition. The couple dipped their pinky fingers into honey and fed them to one another — a gesture symbolizing sweetness in their marriage. Sometimes couples do it one at a time, sometimes at the same time (which always brings laughs), and this moment was no different. Their family was vibrant, adventurous, and so fun to be around — exploring, cheering them on, and soaking in the day while we slipped away for portraits. The couple changed into traditional outfits from one side: a classic Chinese attire for his. Photographing them was pure magic — every frame felt intentional, cultural, and deeply meaningful.
Even though the forecast called for rain all day, we didn’t get a single drop. Instead, we got calm skies, perfect light, and a day that felt beautifully, effortlessly meant to be.
