Finding the right setting for engagement photos can feel like a challenge unless you’re Morgan and Brody. Set along the natural beauty of Sheep River, everything came together effortlessly. From the start, their vision was simple and meaningful: a session that truly felt like them.
What mattered most was keeping it happy, candid, intimate, and outdoors, something that reflected their connection most naturally. Drawn to the warmth of fall and the soft, golden glow of sunset, they embraced a setting that felt both relaxed and romantic.
The result was more than just beautiful photos. It was a collection of moments that captured their energy, their laughter, and the genuine excitement they shared as they stepped into this next chapter together.

Sheep River Engagement Photos Inspired by Their Love Story
Morgan and Brody’s story began with a Hinge match that quickly turned into a great first date in Calgary. Although they discovered they lived in different cities, they kept things casual at first, seeing each other whenever they could. Over time, it became clear how naturally they connected, leading them to take a chance on long distance before eventually building a life together in Red Deer.
From the start, they were drawn to each other’s energy. Brody admired Morgan’s kindness, positivity, and ability to make everyone feel included, while Morgan loved Brody’s work ethic, reliability, and playful sense of humour. Together, they balance each other perfectly, bringing out both comfort and adventure in one another.
Their relationship is rooted in laughter and shared experiences, from spontaneous trips to funny mishaps that they now look back on and laugh about. A lot of their inside jokes come from their favourite show, The Last Man on Earth, a feel good series they could rewatch over and over again. Through life’s more challenging moments, like loss and big life transitions, they have consistently shown up for each other, deepening their bond and trust.
They share a love for the outdoors and staying active, whether it is hiking, golfing, cross country skiing, or camping. Brody enjoys hunting and fishing, while Morgan loves reading and running. Together, they also enjoy exploring new breweries and restaurants and spending quality time with friends and family.
Brody proposed during a cross country skiing day with their dogs, creating a quiet, meaningful moment before surprising Morgan with a cozy getaway to celebrate. Their love story feels perfectly captured by Falling Slowly from Once. Honest, heartfelt, and deeply connected.
Fun Engagement Ideas That Brought Their Day to Life
Their session unfolded in Sheep River, a place that offered the perfect blend of mountain views, open space, and quiet, natural beauty. It was a setting that felt peaceful, scenic, and effortlessly aligned with their vision.
For their engagement session, Morgan and Brody envisioned a relaxed and natural feel, inspired by the warmth of fall and the golden tones of sunset. Since it was their first time being professionally photographed together, they wanted a mix of candid moments filled with laughter and connection, along with a few more intentional, quiet shots.
They kept their look simple and effortless with casual outfits in neutral tones, focusing on complementing each other rather than matching. Wanting the session to feel true to their relationship, they also included meaningful elements like their dogs and a few playful moments, even dancing together.
With a love for the outdoors, they were drawn to mountain backdrops and scenic views, open to walking a bit to reach the perfect spot. Overall, their goal was to create a session that felt easy, genuine, and reflective of who they are together.
Golden Hour, Two Dogs, and a Love Story
Nothing speaks louder than a real love story. After their experience, Moragn and Brody shared:
"We had the most incredible experience working with Krystal! She did our engagement photos and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out, they're absolutely amazing! From the very beginning, Krystal was so great at communicating with us, helping us plan everything out, and picking the most perfect spots for our shoot. She really took the time to understand our vision and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. We even brought our pups along for the shoot, and she was so flexible and wonderful with them! It was such a joy having them included in the photos. We can’t wait for her to capture our wedding in August, we know we’re in great hands!"
“If I didn't say it before, I will say it again, thank you so much for the amazing engagement photos! They turned out so so nice, and better than we ever could have imagined. You took our awkwardness, and made us so comfortable and it truly shows in the photos.”
