A Bragg Creek Airbnb Wedding Celebration: A Love Story Worth the Wait

From a secret proposal to celebrating their wedding day, Jamie and Chris's love story feels like a fairytale brought to life. Their wedding at a beautiful Airbnb wedding venue near Bragg Creek proves that happily ever after really does exist when you find the right person. Having been involved in their dreamy surprise proposal in Kananaskis, I knew their wedding day would be nothing short of magical. The result? A relaxed and heartfelt celebration filled with family, loved ones, incredible food, and unforgettable moments.

From "Will You Marry Me?" to "I Do"
The day of the proposal, the forecast kept threatening heavy rain, and we debated whether to take the risk. In the end, they chose to go with the flow, helped by the fact that Jamie had her hair, makeup, and nails done, something she never does and wanted to enjoy no matter what. And it paid off. It rained for maybe three seconds, barely enough to notice, and she had no idea what was coming. Harper was right there with them as we hiked up to the lookout, where Chris proposed with sweeping views all around. We popped champagne, celebrated the moment, then wandered down to a nearby lake for more photos, laughing, splashing, and being completely themselves. Ten minutes after we wrapped, the skies opened up and it started pouring. Perfect timing, perfect energy, and a proposal that unfolded exactly how it was meant to.
A Beautiful Airbnb Wedding Venue Near Bragg Creek
Chris and Jamie’s wedding day began at a private Airbnb tucked away in Bragg Creek, surrounded by the mountain scenery they have always loved. Choosing to celebrate with their closest family and friends in such a beautiful and secluded setting felt like the perfect reflection of who they are as a couple. In the days leading up to the wedding, the forecast called for plenty of rain, but when their wedding day arrived, it felt like someone was looking down on them and blessing them with the most beautiful sunny day. The clear skies and warm sunshine made an already special celebration feel even more magical.

One of the most important parts of the day for Chis and Jamie was having their dog, Harper, by their side and creating memories together in the Rocky Mountains. With breathtaking views, colourful spring wildflowers, and their loved ones gathered around them, the setting couldn't have been more beautiful. It's easy to see why couples planning a Bragg Creek wedding are drawn to this incredible part of Alberta. While they may not have made it up a mountain trail that day, Harper more than made up for it by happily snacking on dandelions throughout the celebration. It was a relaxed, heartfelt day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments in one of Alberta’s most stunning landscapes.

Bragg Creek Airbnb Wedding Through a Mountain Wedding Photographer's Lens
Every wedding day tells a different story, and Chris and Jamie's was filled with the kind of moments that remind me why I love what I do. Their celebration was relaxed, meaningful, and centred around the people and experiences that mattered most to them.
One of my favourite parts of preparing for a wedding day is visiting locations ahead of time. When I scouted Chris and Jamie's portrait location just two weeks before their wedding, it was still buried under nearly five feet of snow. Looking around, it was hard to imagine how different it would look in such a short amount of time.
When we arrived on the wedding day, I was blown away. The snow had disappeared, replaced by sunshine, fresh greenery, and fields of dandelions stretching across the landscape. It couldn't have been more perfect for Harper, who happily spent part of the day snacking on dandelions while we captured portraits. Those unexpected little details are often what make a wedding day feel so personal and memorable.
These are often the things couples never see behind the scenes, but they're part of what allows the day to feel effortless when it finally arrives. My goal has always been to give couples more than beautiful photographs. I want them to feel supported, prepared, and fully present throughout their wedding experience, knowing someone is looking out for the details while they focus on celebrating.
Rather than us telling you, we'll let Chris speak about their experience:

Chris: “She makes our shy awkward selves comfortable in front of the lens. Truly grateful to have her for our big day, my family thought she was fantastic as well. Words can’t describe how talented Krystal is at Fly Free Photography. She worked around our schedule to accommodate everything we wanted and more. She’s very patient with her clients and helps make the shoot comfortable. Would definitely recommend.”
Why Fly Free Photography Was the Perfect Fit for Their Day

Chris and Jamie's celebration was a beautiful reminder that when you focus on what truly matters, the result is a day filled with genuine moments, heartfelt connections, and memories you'll treasure forever. As a mountain wedding photographer, these are the authentic moments I love capturing most.
