For many couples, school is where their story begins, but holding onto that connection through the changes and distance of college is something truly special. For Kelli and Nick, a childhood friendship stood the test of time and eventually blossomed into love after graduation.

Their shared love of golf and the outdoors continues to bring them closer. If they could teleport anywhere for a free day, they would travel to Scotland to play its famous golf courses before exploring the country’s scenic trails and local pubs. While Kelli also enjoys embroidery, reading, skiing, shopping, and discovering new television shows, Nick loves hunting, fishing, snowboarding, camping, snowmobiling, hiking, and almost anything outdoors. Their relationship is perfectly captured by “All Your’n” by Tyler Childers.

Kelli describes Nick as someone who is always smiling and effortlessly makes everyone around him feel comfortable. Whether they are heading out on an adventure or enjoying a quiet moment together, he always finds a way to make it fun. Nick loves Kelli’s beauty, sense of humour, and easygoing personality. With her, he feels completely comfortable being himself.

For their wedding day, they envisioned sunshine, an intimate ceremony, and a beautiful mountain backdrop shared with their favourite people. Drawn to the Canadian Rockies by their love of the outdoors and their dream of visiting the area, they chose a private, picturesque ceremony location surrounded by mountain scenery. Afterward, we planned to explore some of Banff’s most iconic locations, capturing photographs among the towering peaks and brilliant blue lakes that first inspired their wedding vision.

More than anything, Kelli and Nick were looking forward to committing themselves to one another while celebrating alongside the people they love most. Their idea of a successful wedding was beautifully simple: waking up the next morning with smiles on their faces while reminiscing about the best day of their lives.

From School Hallways to Mountain Vows | Bow Lake Elopement

Kelli and Nick have known each other since elementary school. Growing up in a small town with families who were friends meant they often found themselves in the same circles. Kelli remembers Nick as friendly, easygoing, and always able to make others laugh. Nick remembers Kelli as quiet but quick to surprise everyone with a perfectly timed one liner. A few years after college, their longtime friendship became something more.

Their relationship is filled with sarcasm, playful teasing, and inside jokes about their dogs, Ava and Bert. Their favourite memories are often the simple, everyday moments they share. Travelling together has also strengthened their relationship, showing them how well they communicate, support one another, and navigate stressful situations as a team.

Their next chapter began in Lake Placid, one of their favourite places. During a family trip and a day of skiing, Nick proposed to Kelli on the slopes of Whiteface Mountain. They spent the rest of the weekend celebrating with both of their families. It was a meaningful beginning to the journey that would eventually lead them from school hallways to mountain vows.

Their proposal marked the beginning of planning a wedding that reflected their love of travel, adventure, and the outdoors. They dreamed of a meaningful mountain celebration without the stress of coordinating every little detail.

That is where an all inclusive elopement package can help. Instead of spending months researching vendors, creating timelines, and managing logistics, couples can focus on what truly matters: celebrating their love.

From personalized planning and location recommendations to permit guidance, timeline creation, vendor coordination, an officiant, florals, and photography, every detail is thoughtfully handled. Whether you imagine exchanging vows in Banff, Canmore, Kananaskis, or another breathtaking mountain location, the experience can be created around your unique vision.

The goal is to provide more than beautiful photographs. It is about creating a relaxed and unforgettable wedding day where you can be fully present with each other, knowing everything has already been thoughtfully planned.

A Peyto Lake Elopement Surrounded by Their Favourite People

Kelli and Nick travelled from New York to celebrate their intimate elopement in Golden, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Their ceremony took place at a beautiful Airbnb overlooking the mountains and valley, followed by time with their loved ones and plenty of family photos. Afterwards, we headed to Peyto and Bow Lake for portraits. With hardly anyone around, blooming wildflowers and beautiful weather, they were able to relax, laugh and enjoy the scenery together. They even stepped barefoot into the cold glacier water, creating some truly unforgettable photographs.

Some elopement locations are memorable because of the scenery, while others become unforgettable because of the experience shared there. From their intimate ceremony overlooking the mountains in Golden to their portraits among the wildflowers and glacier water at Peyto Lake and Bow Lake, Kelli and Nick’s day was filled with meaningful moments alongside their favourite people. Every part of the celebration reflected their relaxed personalities, love of the outdoors and joy in simply being together.

That thoughtful and stress-free experience is exactly what Kelli and Nick shared after receiving their photographs:

“We had a wonderful experience working with Krystal for our elopement! She created a thoughtful timeline that helped us plan our perfect day and provided so many helpful resources and tips throughout the process. She was kind, organized, and incredibly easy to work with, making everything feel smooth and stress-free. We highly recommend working with her! The pictures came out so beautiful and were exactly what I had imagined!”
