Have you ever tied the knot on July 1st ( Yes Canada Day )? Well Hilary and Jason sure did at the beautiful Silver Tip Resort in stunning Canmore, Alberta. This was indeed a day of ‘firsts’ for both the couple starting their journey together as husband and wife, and for us doing only videography for their day and on Canada Day! This was such an awesome experience for us being behind the scenes recording every moment of this phenomenal day. As Calgary elopement photographers, we typically do just photo or photo and video, but I must say it was fun for both Mike and I to be doing video. ( Yes that's right, two camera's for multiple angles! Here's a few #BTS )
Hilary & Jason's elegant day took place at the absolutely breathtaking Silvertip Resort in Canmore, Alberta. It was an intimate outdoor wedding that was surrounded by tall lush dark green trees, with their vows being exchanged in front of a wood gazebo that overlooked vast snow tipped mountains. Hilary looked so graceful in her long sparkly dress, it made me think of fresh glistening snow. As she walked down the aisle with her parents Jason wiped away a few tears, it was so touching.
Hilary and Jason had many thoughtful and unique touches that made their day extra special. Jason had the wedding date embroidered on the inside of his suit collar. Their little pug was a part of their day and wore flowers on his collar. Jason’s love for fine cars was definitely shown by having a luxurious Rolls Royce for the day and it made for stunning photos. Their cake was made of cheese and when they ‘cut the cheese’ the knife broke, it was very cute. In honour of Canada day Jason wore funky red Canada day socks and the table who wore the most Canada day gear got to eat first. The reception was so romantic with strings of twinkly lights everywhere and candles on each table. You will hear a portion of Hilary’s Dad's speech in the video and it makes me cry every time hearing his voice quiver speaking about his little girl.
