RANCHHOUSE WEDDING ROMANCE - Cochrane, AB
Calgary Wedding Photographer | Calgary Weddings | Calgary Brides | Fly Free Photos
Kyla & Cody are celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary and we couldn’t be happier for them. Reliving their day has made me realize something, this was a day of firsts for me. It was my first time shooting at the Cochrane Ranch House {ah-mayyyy-zing!}, my first time shooting a first look {we will come back to this}, and my first time with a very “furry” groomsmen. Every detail was carefully thought out by the couple and hand crafted where possible. Cody meticulously fabricated all the metal work details and he did not disappoint!
Now, let’s get back to that first look. I’M OBSESSED. If you have an opportunity to do a first, do it. Convince whoever you have to that it’s a brilliant idea. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for a traditional down the aisle first look, but I must admit this first look opened up a whole new world for me. It allowed for a much more intimate moment between the bride and groom. It gave us time to do “couples creative” photos before the insanity of the day set in. Their last moments before husband and wife were intricate, quiet, and in front of my lens #swoon. I’ll let you be the judge.
I’ll give you a second to pick your jaw back up off the floor {admit it, this first look thing is pretty darn cool}, now let me tell you about the Cochrane Ranch House. If I had to narrow it down to one word, it would be STUNNING. The views. Ohhhh, the views. It’s hard to believe it’s only a short drive from Calgary’s city limits.
I mentioned they did a first look, right {yes, Krystal, we know… you love them}? Well, you would have never known it by the look on Cody’s face when Kyla came down the aisle. There is nothing sweeter than a groom fully consumed by emotion when he sees his bride for the first {or second} time. Fur was also excited. I’ve been told he is a very well-mannered boy who listens like an angel. Kyla and Cody were looking forward to Jacques {aka Furr} walking down the aisle but he had another idea. The wedding excitement got the best of him and he couldn’t resist saying hello to their wonderful guests in the middle row LOL. He definitely stole the show for a few moments and was such a great addition to the wedding party.
I could go on and on about all the things that made this day unique, but I’m afraid I am running out of time. I’ll leave you with a few last shots and say this, Kyla and Cody had an incredible wedding party whom were up for anything and the guests were just as great. The details were heartfelt and wowed the crowd {in fact, my tea is currently sitting on my custom coaster}. I mean, look at those rings. Let me say that again, Look. At. Those. Rings…
Cheers to another year of wedded bliss. Thank you for allowing me to capture and relive your special day.
Yours truly,
Krystal =)
