Shay and Austin were married in Disley Saskatchewan, you can see their gorgeous gallery and wedding blog here, and a week later we did an amazing adventure session in Canmore and Moraine Lake. Originally they were to be married in Canmore so it seemed fitting to have a romantic one on one session in a location they just adore.
First we headed to Three Sisters, a trio of peaks near Canmore, Alberta. These mountains are known as the little, middle and big sisters (Faith, Hope, and Charity) and Shay happens to be the youngest of three sisters. Shay is even getting a tattoo of these lovely peeks to represent her siblings. It was a beautiful day with some cloud, sun and a bit of rain. We got some sweet images here playing and dancing in the trees with the mountains in the background and then headed to Moraine Lake.
Shay and Austin love to stand up paddle board and it was a bucket list wish to get out on that stunning turquoise water. I love the shots of them on their paddle boards in their wedding attire, so awesome! After climbing to the top and resting on some big rocks they cracked open a grape bubbly, had a toast to their future and just took in the breathtaking scenic landscape. It started to rain so we offered them an umbrella and this sparked a memory they had from their high school trip to Florence, Venice and Paris. While in Florence they had a picture taken of them under an umbrella so we recreated the sweet moment. The sun peaked through the clouds and lit the tips of the mountains, it was a beautiful evening.
We had so much fun with this lovely down to earth couple! We are grateful to have met you both and look forward to continuing our relationship. Adventure sessions speak to my soul, especially when I have a bride who is willing to do all the fun things and get good and dirty!
