Brittany and Maxum, along with many other couples getting married in summer 2020, had to re-plan their wedding day due to Covid-19. They were to be married at Gathered, which is located just outside Calgary, but their booking was cancelled so they moved their celebration to next year. However, this did not stop the couple from saying I DO at Max's family's property outside Leduc, Alberta ,which just happens to be absolutely stunning! I mean who doesn't love a beautifully rustic farm wedding! The property has beautiful gardens, tons of trees, pathways and of course a beautiful old barn.
It was a hot, beautiful August day perfect for a wedding. Brittany did a first look with her parents that was just so sweet and emotional, it made me cry! Something about a Mom and Dad seeing their baby girl all done up in a wedding dress and about to walk down the aisle to her future husband is just so moving. We then did a first look for Max which was hilarious! We played a little prank on him haha. When Max turned around to see his bride for the first time in her stunning dress, he was met by his best man dressed in a wedding dress with balloons stuffed in the chest! After a good laugh, Max finally got to see his beautiful bride. I love photographing these sweet first look moments, they are so romantic and full of emotion.
The ceremony was in a pretty little valley under a gorgeous archway adorned with tule, vibrant flowers, with an old barn in the background. There were about twenty people in attendance that were a very tight knit group of friends and family, who were such a blast to be around, I've never laughed so hard! Both father's led the ceremony which was just so special and heart warming. After the ceremony the newlyweds walked back down the aisle to bubbles being blown everywhere.
This wonderful farm wedding had so many personal touches by family members making their day so memorable. Brittany's sister Sam did all the floral arrangements, made the cake and did hair and make up!! What a super star she was! Max's Dad has a huge teepee tent set up on the property and invited us to stay for a home cooked barbeque meal which was fantastic. Everyone was so easy going and fun that it made taking their photo's a breeze. We absolutely loved sharing in your day and we are so excited to attend the celebration next year at Gathered.
