Fairmount Palliser Wedding

Brenda and Vince had an incredible day in Calgary celebrating their love at the Baron {@thebaron.yyc}. Despite an incredibly rainy week and threats to continue the sun came out {and stayed out} for the entire day {eeeek! Happy dance}.

If you are new around here let me fill you in a bit, we are local Calgary wedding photographers, I'm Krystal and we have a team of amazing associates that work with us to bring all our awesome clients the Fly Free Photo exceptional customer service and beautiful memories! You can learn more about our team here. This beautiful wedding was shot my one of our gals and it's best I just let her explain their beautiful day!

Brenda started her day at the Fairmont Palliser in the heart of downtown Calgary. If you are unfamiliar with the venue, do yourself a favor and look them up {don’t worry, I’ll hold}. The views are stunning, the main lobby screams Hollywood elegance {which is where we did a first look with her Dad – I know right?!}, and the rooms themselves are worth the visit. When I arrived, I met Brenda’s crew of incredible women. She was surrounded by her Mother, Mother-in-Law, Sister and her two Nieces and Nephew {cue the ‘awwww’ – let me tell you, these kiddos were so darn cute. I was soaking in every second of the morning with them all. It was very long before I had a highly capable assistant by my side. PSA: I love kids}. The incredible kind and talented somethingborrowedbeauty was on site, check out her work:

As the morning progressed, I got to know each of the ladies better. It was incredible to me when I realized the cultural influences in the room. Brenda’s Mother-in-Law only speaks French, her sister speaks Lebanese and English, and her Nieces and Nephew speak English, French, and Lebanese {faint}. How freaking incredible is that?! It was very quickly apparent that love knows no language. The amount of compassion, love, respect, and kindness you could see between these women was amazing {despite not being able to talk to each other!}. It was heartwarming and encouraging to see such love.

I was informed that Brenda’s Dad would be picking her up in a Seafoam Green old school Chevy. I wasn’t sure what to expect {but was obviously squealing like a school girl on the inside with anticipation}. The truck did not disappoint {magazine worthy for sure}. My mind raced with the photo opportunities to come! But first, back to business, I set up Brenda and her Dad in the main lobby {remember the incredible Hollywood glam lobby I told you about} for a first look {I’m not crying, you’re crying}.

Just like that, we were off to @thebaron.yyc to watch dreams come true. Brenda & Vincent had a bilingual ceremony {this was a first for me and I must say, it added an element that I can’t quite explain – in a good way}. The ceremony was very intimate and I am willing to bet there wasn’t a dry eye in the house {admittedly, there wasn’t behind the lens, that’s for sure}. The love between these two is so pure and evident. The cozy, well lit, romantic venue was the absolute perfect complement to their hand written vows.

For wedding photos, we returned to the same park we shot engagement pictures in. Brenda & Vincent were surprised by family members with their beloved dog, Belleve, {she is capable of turning grown humans into love puddles} in a wedding dress! Just when I thought Belleve couldn’t get any cuter, there she was waiting to see her humans in her little white wedding dress! I think it goes without saying, Brenda & Vince were very surprised and loved it!

As expected, these two were a dream to photograph during our couples session. See for yourself:

We headed back to the Baron to celebrate! The guests were incredible. Everyone was up dancing and chatting. I loved seeing the interaction within the room. The food was next level {well done, @baron.yyc} and the atmosphere was exuberant. Time slipped away and the night was over before we knew it.

Thank you Brenda and Vincent for allowing me to be part of your big day.

Cheers,

Amber
