We had the pleasure of doing a sunset canola field engagement session for Jules and Cori in Regina, Saskatchewan and it was just a gorgeous golden hour shoot. Cori was in a beautiful wedding that we shot in Disley that summer and we are so grateful that they were referred to us, as referrals are the backbone of our business and the greatest compliment! This beautiful couple is fun loving, adventurous and super sweet! They share a love for road trips, travel and their rescue boxer/lab furbaby Greta. We wanted to share their proposal and a bit of their love story so here is a recap in their own words.

First off though, if you don't know us - We are a Husband and Wife photo and video team mainly serving our clients in Alberta. However, Ritz is actually from Regina/Saskatoon so naturally he bleeds green and is always looking for an excuse to make his way back to Riderville ! So needless to say, we find ourselves in Regina 2-3 times a year to document beautiful weddings! "Okay, this one calls for a bit of a backstory!! We actually dated for 2 - 3 weeks in the beginning of our relationship and then went our separate ways for close to two years. We were young, 19 and 21, and fresh in university. We met at a local bar in Regina called O'Hanlons and Julius always swears that "I knew we were going to be together" even though neither of us remember much of that night from a few too many brewskies ;) We went on a few dates afterwards, but the timing just wasn't right and we kind of went our separate ways. Amicably, of course. After about 2 years, we ran into each other at the country music festival, Craven Country Jamboree. And my word... Jules was looking GOOD!!!!! hahahaha And literally ever since then we have not left each others sides :) Ok now for the proposal...... We were planning a trip to Winnipeg during our summer last August and Julius sent me for a loop! He suggested we go for lunch before we hit the road and mentioned there was "a new menu out at O'Hanlon's and we should go check it out." Sure! Not unusual, the bar is downtown, we're always there. While there, I (Cori) even brought up "OMG remember when we first met here and neither of us remember hahah" and man, Jules just giggled and had an amazing poker face. So after lunch we were all set to hit the road and head to Winnipeg! But wait!!! Julius apparently "forgot" he had to stop at his uncle's house who apparently lives in "Craven" and literally took a sharp turn in the OPPOSITE direction and I was like WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!! (Craven is about 25 mins WEST outside of Regina... Winnipeg is out EAST lol so it was like ridiculously out of the way) So anyway I was a little annoyed that we had to take like 2 hours out of our driving time to "drop off my uncles card"...... The drive helped me chill out though lol I put on Sam Smith (he's my FAV artist ever and will be played at our wedding) and when 'our song' came on Julius started crying as we drove through the Craven valley!!!!! Right then I knew something was up... He turned into the parking lot of the Craven Jamboree and said he had to "look for something" and I knew he was probably thinking of a way to get me out of the car. So I fixed my hair, turned up Sam Smith so we could hear it outside of the car and when I closed the door he was already on his knee and we both were blubbering like babies :) So he recreated our love story by taking me to where we first met at O'Hanlons when we were kids, and then took me to Craven where we met a second time and fell in love :) "
