Blush Vintage Rentals in Airdrie, AB
Hey, my names Emily! Thanks to Krystal for having me on her blog. I am the owner and
founder of Blush Vintage Rentals. You can view our rental inventory and shop our
Velvet Ring Boxes at blushrentals.com.
As I pause and reflect on my childhood, I honestly believe that my love for special events
and antiques stems from my mother. My mother planned my sister’s wedding and many
theme birthdays, everything from a 1950’s party with poodle skirts and a juke box to a
teddy bear picnic. She often took us to antique stores looking for kitchen items to display
atop her kitchen cupboards, pointing out the use of each item and sharing her childhood
memories. My favourite antique items have become furniture, teacups and vintage
glassware. I love the vibrant colours and floral patterns that can be found.
In 2019 when my fiancé proposed to me, I started collecting antique items as décor for
our wedding: a few ornate mirrors, a small pink vanity and a typewriter. While planning
our wedding I was most excited about setting up a lounge seating area complete with a
vintage loveseat and chair. My original train of thought was that after our wedding any
items I had purchased I’d put an ad on Facebook and possibly rent them out. I never
imagined launching my own business or developing the collection I now have. My fiancé
launching his own company in 2020 honestly made me say “I should think bigger”.

Planning Your Vintage Wedding Decor
Although the sky is the limit when it comes to your wedding decor, here are a few of our favorite creative uses for your wedding rentals!
Ceremony Seating
A creative alternative to renting chairs for your ceremony is to use lounge seating - this works great for micro-weddings! By using loveseats and armchairs, you create comfortable, colourful and eclectic seating for your guests.
Photo Booth
There are a variety of photo booth types, our favourite doesn’t actually involve a booth! Open-air photo booths allow you to create your own backdrop; using vintage furniture you can have a lot of fun fitting in more friends and props!

Bridal Party Photos
Take timeless photos of your bridal party lounging on vintage furniture in an unlikely location. We often see couples sitting on a sofa amid skyscrapers or in a field of gold.
Sweetheart Table
To truly accent your sweetheart table, add his and hers armchairs. These can incorporate your wedding colours and make you feel like royalty! They also make for cute pictures when playing the shoe game.
Lounge Seating/Outdoor Living Room
As seen on Pinterest… Lounge seating areas bring a whole new dimension to weddings! You can create a cozy, intimate outdoor living room away from the excitement of the dance floor. Lounge seating is great for cocktail receptions and bridal showers - to be honest, an outdoor living room is truly ideal during the pandemic.
Tables
While planning my wedding the one thing I discovered is that you can never have too many tables. There’s the cake table, the guest book table, the signing table and the gift table and now a sanitization station. Rather than a folding table with white linens, imagine a vanity used as a dessert bar; wedding cake in the center with fresh fruit tarts to left and mini pies to the right, on the mirror behind “all you need is love & dessert”.

Velvet Ring Boxes: One Of Our Favourite Vintage Wedding Essentials
We currently offer 24 colour options for double slot ring boxes. Our hexagon two slot boxes can accommodate your engagement ring and wedding band or double as a box for yours and your fiancé(e)'s wedding rings. The hexagon's smaller size truly showcases your rings, measuring 4 cm on each side. You can personalize your box by adding your initial in a gold or silver monogram. If you are keeping your last name, we can also personalize your box with yours and your fiancé’s first initials.
Note from Fly Free: As wedding photographers, don't underestimate how a ring box can completely change the look of your detail photos! We LOVE the vintage, luxurious feel of these!
Frequently Asked Questions about Renting your Wedding Decor
Do you offer delivery?
Yes! We offer a deliver within 100 km of Airdrie (additional to the rental cost).
Can we pick up and drop off the rentals ourselves?
Of course! We can arrange pick up and drop off times in Airdrie that work best with your schedule. As Alberta’s weather can be unpredictable, to ensure our rentals remain the best condition, we ask that rentals be transported in an enclosed vehicle.
Do you offer extended rental periods?
Yes, we do! We offer extended rental periods of up to 4 days to allow for day before setup or day after take down as well as travel.
Do you have a showroom?
At this time, we are operating out of our home, so we don’t offer showings. If you’d like any additional photos of a piece or measurements, I’d be happy to send them to you.
Can the furniture be placed outside?
Absolutely! Vintage furniture outdoors makes for some of the best photos! We just ask that you take care of the items as if they’re your own. Please don’t leave them outdoors in poor weather, wet, muddy or dusty areas. We ask that the rentals be stored indoors overnight in a locked area.
How soon should I book?
We book up to a year in advance, so it’s best to reserve early as this will guarantee you the décor you’re wanting for your specific date.
