Anniversary Photo Shoot in the Rocky Mountains
Anna and Jon got married last year, right when the world was shutting down at the end of March. Everything was closing down rapidly and I remember trying to help them find backup plans for their backup plans like it was yesterday. Then finally, the day before the wedding, both Kananaskis and Banff shut down their parks. Because we didn't get a chance to take their wedding photos in the Rocky Mountains last year, we decided to make the most of their Anniversary photo shoot! Anna got her hair and makeup done from our lovely artist Sam, we picked up an absolutely stunning bouquet from Chels at Adventure Florals, and we had the most incredible day taking photos (and a video!) around the Kananaskis.
In case we haven't met yet, welcome to the Fly Free family! We are a Calgary elopement photography and videography team that frequently finds ourselves in the Rocky Mountains (and all over BC and Saskatchewan). You can read more about us here or find more information about our photo and video packages here. Elopements and Micro Weddings are our jam and we truly value transparency. If you have any questions at all, you can get in touch with us here.
Anniversary Photo Shoot Ideas!
If you are planning your own anniversary photo shoot, don't be afraid to have some fun with it! I love when couples come up with unique ways to add their personality in the photo shoot or even bring in some elements from their wedding day (feel free to wear your wedding dress again!). For Anna and Jon, I love that they brought flowers to the photo shoot and took the extra care to splurge on getting her hair and makeup done. I also loved the pop of personality in her converse shoes! Who doesn't deserve to feel like a Disney princess from time to time?
Anniversary Wedding Rings
We always remember to take ring photos during your engagement photos and your wedding day photos but don't forget to show them off for your anniversary as well! We always recommend taking your ring in to get cleaned before your photo shoot for an extra bit of sparkle.
Kananaskis Rocky Mountains Anniversary Photoshoot
Overall, this was a fantastic day. We got to photograph an absolutely stunning couple who were filled with love for one another and it made our job even easier. You can see the love in the photos. Even though their wedding day wasn't like they had originally planned, I was so grateful we were able to get them their dreamy mountain backdrop just a year later.
